More than 1 in 3 Internet users say they go to social networks when looking for more information about a brand or product, and 34% of UK adults with social accounts would rather engage with a business on social media than visit a physical location.

This shows us quite clearly that your potential and existing customers are on social media and they do want to connect with you.

Reaching out to someone to help them solve a problem they’re having creates a positive image of your business in their mind. If they’re a local looking for a good place to get a drink, recommend your favourite café. If they’re having problems with your product, reach out with answers rather than waiting for them to contact you.

Even if the people you reach out to would never spend money with your business, other people will see that you’re making these connections, and they’ll also think of your brand as helpful and caring. This widens the net of people who are likely to contact you and potentially become customers.
